Migration of MDM platform from AirWatch to Intune

Customer Brief

The customer is the largest state agency in the United States that managed highway and freeway lanes, provides inter-city rail services, permits more than 400 public-use airports and special-use hospital heliports, and works with local agencies. The customer had more than 14 plus distinct districts with more than 18000 users with mobile devices.

The customer had made significant investments in the Microsoft licensing and were looking to aggressively cut down their IT spends by migrating their mobile device platform from AirWatch to Intune and save approximately 1.3M USD dollars annually. The project though backed up by top management was blocked due to several challenges.

Challenges: 

  • AirWatch configuration 
  • Limited insights on current configurations 
  • Limited or no visibility on what features are currently used in AirWatch

  • Features like access file shares on mobile devices had no parallel solution in Intune

Customer Brief

The customer is the global production company spread across 29 countries and provides services around media and creative marketing. The customer have more than 7800 users spread across different geographical locations. 

The customer was undergoing a massive transformation owing to them being acquired by a known global brand. The customer’s team were working under stringent timelines to ensure all of their users get new email address (UPN) and their collaboration platform is renamed to reflect the branding of the parent company. At the same time, the customer was looking to migrate the SSO from federated to managed identity.
